Strawberry fair.

http://www.strawberry-fair.org.uk/

Strawberry fair is normally held in June on the mid summer common, and many people always turn up, it is local to Cambridge but people from everywhere always turn up to take part in the party.
Strawberry fair normally has local bands playing or bands that arn't very famous and unsigned.
They also have many tents, beer tents, reggae tents, dance tents, gig tents.
Its also famous for being a arts fair with many stalls, from braiding hair to selling mushroom hats to legal high stalls.

The target audience is normally anyone of any age that's into music and having a good time. You always get mothers with  there with there children to 40 year olds with there beer.
You normally see the "hippys" with dread locks and hand knitted cardigans.

The festival is normally funded by the local conical, however i has been cancelled   this year, so they will try there hardiest to keep it gong for next year.

Strawberry's fair aim is to create a sense of creative unity, they want the festival to be a happy safe place to be.
They want there entertainment  to be exciting and different with everything colourful and imaginative.

http://www.glastonburyfestivals.co.uk/

Glastonbury is held every June on the 23rd to the 27th.
it is held just outside a Glastonbury town on a massive farm called worthy farm, which a mostly a cow farm. It stared in the 1970's and was only a pound to get in, with free milk. The festival is run by Michael Eavis, and his daughter.

Every year Glastonbury havee a diffident line-up of music, it would be nearly impossible to list them all on here.
They have loads of small stages that will have comedian's and small singing artists they even have poem slams in the smaller tents.
The two main stages are the pyramid stage and the other stage, which is where the bigger more famous acts and bands will preform, mostly bands though.
They also have a stage for the acoustic music and dance stages.
Some of the main people and bands playing at Glastonbury 2010 are, Dizzee Rascal, Jack Johnson, Hot chip. La roux, Kate Nash and so on.

The target audience now days it much bigger then what is was when it started out in 1970, it was Micheal's idea to hold the event because of his inspiration from other festivals. IT was held the day after Jimi Hendrix died and only 1,500 people attended, back the it would of been hippys that would have been in to music simpler to Jimi Hendrix, the crowd would have been much smaller and tight knitted

As the festival grew and got in to the 2 thousands, 100, 000 people attended. The festival was getting big by now. The audience started to change and music got much more wider, they had bands such as chemical brothers and David bowie.

By 2009 the festival was massive, 134, 000 people attended and 6,000 Sunday passes. Of course Glastonbury has caravan camping and and camping sites. By the 2 thousands they became more f a culture festival and i artist festival, they have Fields for green peace where everyone lives in tepees and they show you them carving wood and living natural. The areas are all very different and appeal to a wide range of people. By now people form around the world attend Glastonbury because of how famous it is. The artists and bands got much bigger and any kind of people will go for the experience

Risk assessment.

Its important to do a risk assessment if we are going outside the college for our performance because if this arnt carried out the college could get sued.

We need to do a register to make sure that none is missing from the group.
We are preforming in Cambridge city center with big drums, o we need to make sure that these are drove there in blacks van instead of carrying them.
When we are using the big drums we need to make sure that they are put on safely to insure that there is no injuries.

Dress rehersal.

The dress rehersal went really well, yesterday we wore them while we did our samba production, We wore are masks and our tshirts that we made.
The outfits i thought were really good :) Everyone felt really comftable, And i think they were really succesful, the boys liked the masks and so did all he girls.
If we could change anything we would get bigger masks for the boys cos there to small.
I think we would also print more on the outfits, if we had more time we would have printed much neater.

This is one for the sites i have looked at for glitter for our masks.
Ths is glitter glue.

This is glitter for 99p, they come sepratly

The other week we looked at mask prices because we want to wear masks to do our samba proformance, we found cheap full masks, for 60p, but for the girls we want half masks which cost alot more,  the cheapist ones we found were £1.20 and for 13 it comes to 24 pound, and we only have a buget of 50 pound, the boys only came to 18 pound, with there being 6 boys.
So we only have 18 pounds left.

Cambridge research report.

The two groups create a sense of band identity by wearing the same logos on there jumpers, they all look like there part of the band.
The different band member interact with each other by having a band leader, the leader makes different jesters to show who should do what.
The band encourages the audience to get involved by waving there arms in the air and dancing around they keep the mood cheery and it makes the audience want to dance.
The bands arrange them selves on stage by staying close together. In the first video the big drums go to the back however the second one they are at the front.
The first video is filmed outside so the lighting is obviously natural, there performance is outside and they haven't used many props however they have got very funky consumes, they have dressed how they want to and because they have done it outside it makes the walkers by interested and want to stop and look.
The second video is filmed on a stage inside, so the lighting is dimmed however they have lights shining down on the people preforming, they have pretty much dressed in there normal clothes and are not wearing jumpers or t-shirts to show who they are.

Follow up on petition.

these are my results from my petition, as you can see so many more people joined the facebook group then actually signing the pettion, also many more girls to boys joined my facebook group.

        This is my facebook group.

reflextion on campign day.

On campign day i went to cambridge to get as many people to sign my petition for music changes the world.
I explained to people what my campaign was about and got them intrested.
I took danny and he busked to get people intrested.
This didnt work very well because most people just walked past.

Wednesday, 6 January 2010

The plan is today is to go round the college site and get my boyfriend  danny to play guitar while i hand out my petition for people to sign.
I will tell them about how my campaign is to make people to realise that music can change the world. and that it brings us closer together.
My tactics are to bring danny and make him play which will attract attention.
i don't reckon Ill get my people to sign as my campaign  isn't very good.

Banner (colour version) Cambridge set up a petition to stop tescos down mill road.
They have published a website towards this.
they really didn't want a tesco because the public thought that it would put other business out of work.
They feel that mill road is very cultural. They got in total 5.000 people to sign a petition. However tescos was still built :( But.. they didn't receive an alchol licence, or an local enquiry and they have the most difficult time delivering it, this makes it the smallest store's in the UK.
They have also set up campaigns to help local traders, so they do not go out of business.

July  2007 tescos said that they have leased the site for 15 years.
To try and stop tescos being built they published a petiton this started in September 2007. by October 2007 people started to write to council planners to stop tesco's, they ended up getting 3ooo signatures

In November tescos publicly tell the campaign they didn't own the site but still had that lease HOWEVER 8 days later they are registered as the owners. :O

People then START A MARCH. There not having any of it. 600 people march and march and march down mill road. now 5000 people have signed the petition.
They then applied for air conditioning, and refrigerators, the council reject it

April 2008

They still don't have planing permission and even if they do there is hardly and chance that they will get an alchol licence.

May 2008

They say that there going to start building in July, even with no planning permission.  It didn't happen.

In June 2008 they applie again for refrigerators and air conditioning. Over 5000 people have now signed the petition.

By July 2008 there told to just give up.

even though they have said that the building would be to small for tesco's they still found a way to open it.

my fav t-shirts.

t-shirt design website.

My first website i choose was disign by humans.
I choose these disigns because i think there really funky and moden, they use approrprate colours, there not to bright or not to boring, there designs are very absract and i like that.
This t-shirt would cost 17 dollors, this includes shipping.
Its better to buy from online that in a high street shop because for this website it is cheaper then in a shop also if its free shipping its even cheaper. Online means you can get a bigger range of uniqe disigns.

My second website i choose was teefury
I chose this websit because i really like there disigns, they use really light pastal colours to represent a range of things to music and comady.
There t-shirts are cheap as they start of at 9 dollers and free shipping.

How?

What have i done today?
today i posted my final t-shirt stencil i also posted my three original t-shirt ideas,

What went well and why.
I manged to post all my blogs in the end.

What could i have done differently.
I manged to post my stencil on but at first it wouldn't post because it was the wrong file, even though it was saying it was a jpg, so i had to re save it and post it again.
I also posted my three t-shirt designs but i didn't have time to write about them.

What will i do tomorrow.
I will write up about my three t-shirt ideas.
I will also do health and safety and budgeting.

This is my final t-shirt campaign design.
I used the people holding hands around the world to show that music can reunite everyone and bring us all together.
I put the words "music changes the world" to show what i mean, i used fun colours to show that its for a younger generation and the people holing hands in black and white to empathise the colour in the towards and make everything stand out.

Blood sweat and t-shirts.
this clip shows a task that a group of people have to carry out, they have come to india to be shown how bad labor is and how there clothes are made and in the conditions there facing everyday, the terrible pay they recive.

This video shows how children have been saved from the terrible conditions of working in a slum.

This video shows what they can get with a day wages.

This shows just how cheap primark is. Its shows how packed it really does get, it tells you that people dont relise why its so cheap. And that having cheap clothes is the new expensive.

My threee campaign ideas ;)

My three campaign idea's to make to make my life better, someone Else's life better and to make someone smile would be. . .

FIRST. Something that would make my life better would be the buses running on time and more often, and the fact they shouldn't change the route :@
This would be so much better because i would get home earlier and college on time.

SECOND.
Something to make someone Else's life better would be, give out FREE coffee to homeless people in the morning round Cambridge.
Because at least they would then be a little warmer.

THIRDLY.
Something to make someone smile :) would be TELL THEM THERE BEAUTIFUL. Because then they'll feel AMAZING, and it would start them of for the long working day ahead.

Dropdead clothing.
Drop dead is designed by oli sykes from bring me the horizon, which is a very succesful band. The manufacture is drodead clothing.
a t-shirt like this would cost £20, and they can range to about £35.
t-shirts like this are normaly unisex, just in a bigger size for guys.
made from %100 COTTON.

NOM NOM NOM me.

My pacman final practice print. my design is very simple, there isnt any compastion or shading but i wanted it block colour. My letters are in red but when i do the final spary i will do the pacman in yellow and the lettering in blue, the reason for this is because blue and yellow are the two orignal colours for pacman that are put together. I will put the pacman coming on to the page from one corner and have the words "nom nom nom" from smaller to bigger down the page, or in my case the t-shirt because i am going to do my print on a practice t-shirt.

What ispired my idea was that pacman is seen as e retro design and loved by youths, i also used the words "nom nom nom"  because its a saying that youths also like to use and so they can relate to it. Also its  the sound pacman makes when you play him on his game so i thought is was very relevent.
I think its a successful idea because its block colous which makes it intresting and eye catching, its very simple but evective and pacman is seen as a very cool thing between youths.
The connections in my design is that pacman is yellow and the lettering is blue which is the theme colours for pacman. I have also added teeth on to my pacman, this isnt usual and its supposed to show that pacman is angry and will eat anything in its path.
I do think that my design could be improved by using different words or colours, also i could take the teeth out and just have the original pacman.

Banksy's work.

These three pictures are part of the bansky collection, banksy is a street graffity artist, who was belived to be born in 1974 and raised in bristol. Nobody knows who he is and noone has seen him do his work. He takes blek le rat as his inpristion, and his work is very simpler. His work consists of alot of humor, but he uses humore through politics and things that arnt spposed to be funny.  another example is the policeman holding flowers and running along holding hands.
For example he did a picture of a dougnut truck driving along side police bikes, the dougnut on the top is the only colour in the picture, this makes it ironic because poice are mean and arnt supposed to be funny.

Pacman, nom nom nom.

This is my t-shirt design, i don't really like it, i don't thin i should of put a black black ground because it doesn't look very appealing to a girl of 16 to 19.  i like my idea of pacman eating the letters, i think i should simple down the words as well and replace the ghosts for just a "o"
and take the pacman game board out form the bottem.

yeah boii. h/w.

Students Stressfull Stories from Stress and Strain of School Camp on Vimeo.

I choose my video about the stress and strain of school.

I think it it effective because the idea of using students real stories means you may be able to relate to them, they put all the stories on a computer screen and filmed it. This meant that the students identity was covered. They also changed there names, this shows you that there serious about helping students and this makes it effective.

The less effective things would be that there was no voice over, the camera movement was to jolty and might be hard to read.

HISTORY OF THE COMMON T-SHIRT.
The T-shirt evolved from undergarments used in the 19th century, through cutting the one-piece "union suit" underwear into separate top and bottom garments, they were adopted by miners and stevedores throughout the 1800's for a covering in a hot environment.
It then became popular in the united states for the u.s navy. they were worn under the uniform.
it would of been worn under the uniform, when it got to hot in tropical environments they would take of there uniform and only wear the t shirt.
They then became popular as a bottom layer of clothing for workers in many different industries, The t-shirt was easy fitting, easy to clean and very cheap.
Because f this it became a popular and easy choice for young boys. they then were made in many different colours and patterns.
It then became even more popular and more of a fashion statement after Marlon Brando wore it in A Streetcar Named Desire.
